Interior setup for an event at Santa Cruz Elks Lodge #824.

At $40 a night, you can park your rig steps from a freshly remodeled pool, grab a burger from the snack shack, and fall asleep to the sound of the Santa Cruz night. That's not a resort pitch, that's a Tuesday at Lodge #824. Members and guests have been rating this place 4.4 stars for good reason: the staff actually know your name, the pool stays spotless, and the grounds sit close enough to downtown that you can walk to the wharf without moving your car.

Founded in 1904, Santa Cruz Elks Lodge #824 has spent over a century planting itself into the fabric of this city. The lodge anchors a corner of 150 Jewell St where locals gather for everything from Comic Con pop-up events to charity fundraisers, RV overnight stays, and Friday night dinners. It's the kind of place where a first-time visitor walks in a stranger and leaves with three new friends and a standing invitation to return.

The mission of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity. At Lodge #824, those words show up in the real world: youth scholarships, veteran support programs, and a community calendar that actually keeps busy. Come for the pool. Stay for the people.

What We Offer

The remodeled outdoor pool is the crown jewel of the property, consistently described by visitors as spacious, clean, and genuinely relaxing. The on-site snack shack keeps the deck well-fed with food and cold drinks, so you never have to leave to have a full afternoon.

For travelers, the RV parking program offers some of the best-value overnight stays on the Central Coast. At just $40 per night, you get a large site, pool access, and all the amenities of the lodge grounds. The largest spots sit only five spaces from the water, making them the first to go.

Beyond the pool deck, the lodge hosts a rotating lineup of community events, from themed vendor fairs like Comic Con gatherings to member dinners and seasonal celebrations. Private event rentals are available for qualifying groups, and the lodge's banquet facilities can accommodate gatherings of many sizes. Members also gain access to the Elks national network, opening doors to lodges and reciprocal privileges across the country.

"I love visiting this pool; it's truly delightful. The on-site snack shack offers a variety of food, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The pool is consistently clean and spacious, ensuring everyone's comfort. I particularly enjoy their events, especially on Fridays, where children can play and adults can unwind with a drink. It's the perfect spot to engage my kids and have fun together, whether we're swimming or playing games."

"I'm not a member, but my daughter is. They have a nice pool, with various games children will enjoy. There's a nice selection of pool food and beverages (including adult beverages) affordably priced. We celebrated our granddaughter's b-day party there, too. Membership seemed reasonable. Everyone was enjoying the pool."

Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
